Our History

NBCS Seal

The New Braunfels Conservation Society was founded in 1964 to save the Ferdinand Lindheimer Haus, one of New Braunfels’ most significant historic homes. As the IH-35 corridor developed through the community, NBCS saved, relocated and restored notable historic structures via generous conservation-minded donors. Over the years, our mission has grown to also preserve and promote the history and heritage of New Braunfels, a mission that continues today.

You can tour many of these historic homes and buildings at our award winning outdoor museum, Historic Old Town.
